Burdade Strategies is a Hispanic- and LGBT-owned consultancy that helps organizations actually use their data to make better decisions.

Who We Are

Burdade Strategies was started by Alex Barbieri, a highly experienced political data & analytics strategist, in late 2021. 

He has held key data and analytics roles with organizations and campaigns including Wendy Davis for Governor / Battleground Texas, Hillary for America, Precision Strategies, For Our Future, the Florida Democratic Party, Warren for President, and Biden for President. Alex brings hands-on expertise in designing, executing, and managing data and analytics programs, building reporting infrastructure and visualizations, leading data-centric projects and teams, fostering strong team cultures, with a keen interest in testing assumptions.

Born to a Venezuelan family and having lived in Venezuela for four years, Alex grew up in Texas and is fluent in Spanish. He has a B.A. in Political Science and a Master’s in Political Management from the George Washington University. In his free time, you can find him at Costco, hunting down the best Venezuelan food, or playing the schoolyard game of kickball with the DC Stonewall Kickball League.

So what exactly is ~Burdade~?

We hear this a lot. Burdade was derived from the Venezuelan slang, burda de, which is used to note "a lot of" or "a great deal of".

Venezuelans don't just say "muy bien" or "hace frío" we say "burda de bien" and "hace burda de frío". So, naturally, when you convert a 2-word Spanish-language phrase to English, you remove the space, combine the words, and re-pronounce it (bur-deɪd). 

All this to say, Burdade Strategies = lots of strategy.
