What We Do

Burdade Strategies is a Hispanic- and LGBT-owned consultancy that helps organizations actually use their data to make better decisions.

With over a decade of experience building the data behind presidential-level programs, we work with organizations of every size to build the systems, reporting, and analysis that turn messy information into clear insights—and we're genuinely easy to work with while we do it.

Who We Are

Alex Barbieri is a seasoned political data and analytics strategist who has been driving progressive tech and data programs since 2014. He’s held senior data and analytics roles on major national campaigns, including Deputy Data Director, Data Director, and Midwest Regional Analytics Director roles with Hillary for America, Warren for President, and Biden for President.

In 2021, Alex founded Burdade Strategies, where he draws on his campaign experience, plus time spent across state parties, independent-expenditure programs, and the private sector leading creative testing at enterprise scale, to help campaigns, committees, advocacy organizations, and private-sector clients with data infrastructure, targeting, reporting, and creative testing.

Alex holds a B.A. and Master's from George Washington University. He is fluent in Spanish and spent four years living in Venezuela before growing up in Texas. In his downtime, he's an avid kickballer with the DC Stonewall Kickball League, a local runner on TikTok, and an Executive Member at Costco.

So what exactly is ~Burdade~?

We hear this a lot. Burdade was derived from the Venezuelan slang, burda de, which is used to note "a lot of" or "a great deal of".

Venezuelans don't just say "muy bien" or "hace frío" we say "burda de bien" and "hace burda de frío". So, naturally, when you convert a 2-word Spanish-language phrase to English, you remove the space, combine the words, and re-pronounce it (bur-deɪd).

All this to say, Burdade Strategies = lots of strategy.
